Thank You for Registering for This Year’s National Senior Health & Fitness Day
National Senior Health & Fitness Day, now in its 27th year, is traditionally held on the last Wednesday in May. As the nation’s largest annual older adult health and wellness event, its goals are to help keep older Americans healthy and fit, and to showcase what local organizations are doing in their communities to promote senior health and wellness.
With this year’s coronavirus crisis, local groups could not host in-person events on Wednesday, May 27th, so we created two events for 2020: National Senior Health & Fitness Day: 2020 Virtual Event, which was held on Wednesday, May 27th, and our rescheduled fall event coming up on Wednesday, October 28th.
You do not need to register again to host an event on Wednesday, October 28th.
We understand that the COVID-19 crisis is still impacting how events are being held across the nation, and because of that, this year’s event website now includes activity ideas and resources for both actual and virtual events.
You can choose between small group activities and virtual activities, based on the state and local guidance regarding COVID-19 in your area. As each place is different, we ask that you check with your local regulations and adjust your Senior Day activities accordingly. We are offering options for both!
Please use the links shown in the red box to the left to take you to the page for actual small group event ideas, or to the page for virtual event ideas
Also look for more actual and virtual event ideas in our weekly issues of FitnessDay News, the official newsletter of National Senior Health & Fitness Day.
