Thank You for Registering for This Year’s Event!
National Senior Health & Fitness Day, now in its 28th year, has traditionally been held on the last Wednesday in May. As the nation’s largest annual older adult health and wellness event, its goals are to help keep older Americans healthy and fit, and to showcase what local organizations are doing in their communities to promote senior health and wellness.
To give you the most flexibility in planning your activities this year, we are offering two event dates:
National Senior Health & Fitness Day—Spring Event: Wednesday, May 26th (our traditional last Wednesday in May date)
and
National Senior Health & Fitness Day—Fall Event: Wednesday, October 27th (the last Wednesday in October)
You may participate in our Spring or Fall event, or both. You do not need to register again to host a second event: Your registration is good for both.
Why two National Senior Health & Fitness Day events this year? As the COVID-19 risk for seniors continues to decline, CDC’s recommendations for small group activities during the pandemic may change soon. Many local groups may be able to hold in-person events in late May, and we hope almost all organizations will be able to host actual events by the Fall event on October 27th.
This year’s event website has useful resources to help you organize virtual or actual events. We will be making regular updates to the website, and you’ll find more ideas in upcoming FitnessDay News issues that you receive as part of your registration.
